I have several section databases that have certain tables that link into tables in one main database. How can I get the section databases to 1) show only records pertaining to their section in edit mode or add mode? I have coded a filter on the OnOpen event, but they can remove the filter and see the other records. Since the tables are linked, I can't use a default value since many sections are inputting their own information. This is also a security issue because no section should see another section's information. For example, I want the field for service to default to Surgery for the Surgery service when the person opens her front end database, (one table), and also from the main case table I want her to be able to look only at cases pertaining to surgery (the form now shows all cases in the main linked table, or only surgery with the filter). Thanks!

Hi belsha,

Have a look at the Master-Child relationships. You can find
examples here or in Access Help. Plus if your users log in,
you can restrict the records that they see by using a combobox
as a lookup tool.
