Is there an alternative method for the Followhyperlink method, that may be used to open a web page in the browser?

My problem is that when I use the Followhyperlink method to open the web page that needs to open, the entire Access Application freezes until IE can completely render the web page. This is entirely unacceptable as the page that is coming up is a weblog type of page and sometimes may take up to two minutes to load.

I would like to use an alternative method to open the web page in the default browser, but I would like to do it asynchrously so that I do not have to wait for the page to finish. The page can continue to load in the background, that doesn't matter, I just need the Access Application to remain available while it is loading.

I do not have this problem if the default browser is Firefox, unfortunately company policy prohibits the use of Firefox, so I am stuck with IE.

I don't know how ShellExecute API does this, but you could probably try it out. Use for instance the wrapper from TheAccessWeb (http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0018.htm)
