Forcing a table Unlock

I have a split DB setup (you know, Front end and back end) that's used throughout the maintenance dept. here.

My Backend DB is locked up with your simple Startup stuff (nothing too killer) buy just enough to keep the computer illiterate out of it so they wont mess it up. Im looking for a way that i can set up in the Back End DB to FORCE an unlocking of the tables involved, so that i can modify the structure of the tables without having to get up and walk around the office making sure everyone is out of the fe. Is there any way to do this?
