Hello, could we receive a suggestion on how to change the background colour in the field of a form and have the colour that was chosen remain when we open the record again?

We have tried conditional formatting without success.

If the Red button is clicked the field colour would always open with a red background
The same if the Green Button was chosen
The default colour will be while

Your assistance will be appreciated.

Fabiola

Hi. To "persist" something, you will have to "store" it in the database, probably in a table would be the simplest approach.

Could you please suggest how we can store a colour in a table?
Have a combo box with colours, White, Green and Red, and then use conditional formatting for the chosen colour?

Hi. You simply add a column to store the color and bind the combobox to it. You can then use code or CF to change the back color based on the value in the column/combobox.

Try this one too, which uses a User Defined Database Property rather than a table

Bob,
That sets it for all records when I downloaded it.?

I believe the o/p wants to set individual records, a bit like CF, but does not have any decent criteria for CF, so manually formatting.?

I admit the request is not very clear due to the terminology?

And you may well be correct about the OP's requirements. I agree that the requirement is not as clear as it might be. I'm sure the OP will let us know in due course :)
