form reference problem

Hello,
I am using this thread in the criteria field in a query:

"*" & [Forms]![NameOfYourForm]![B1] & "*"

but when i run the query i am getting an error message stating:
This expression typed incorrectly, or is too complex to be evaluated.

any idea why i am getting this error in this given situation?

[B1] needs to be the name of a control on the form. Maybe it's the name of a field instead. Maybe the control and the field have the same name.

I assume that you are using this parameter with the LIKE operator. [B1] would also have to be text, not numeric for the LIKE operator to work
