Form Total - creating numbers

I am working on a Report that has several groupings with fields containing data that I want to total in the report footer. At present I am using “=Sum([section_amount])” to attempt to get my numbers, although I am not getting a error message, the numbers that are returning from the calculation are off giving an arbitrary number from what appears to be out of the sky.

Any Ideas?
