When I run my database it always opens in window mode - I've searched through the help files but unabel to find out how to set the database to open in full screen mode - I have a form as my front page and want this to open in full screen mode instead of window mode

Many Thanks and a Happy New Year to all

DoCmd.Maximize on the OnOpen event of the form

If I read Richard correctly he's not interested in Maximizing his form within the Access window, he wants it to cover the entire monitor screen! You can use Startup to remove most of the menus, but the main application menu will remain and the form will still be contained within the Access window.

What I do is simply

  1. Make the form large enough to cover the screen
  2. Set the PopUp to Yes
  3. Set AutoCenter to No
  4. Position form to cover screen and save the form

When using this method, you have to set all forms in the app to PopUp = Yes to maintain the full screen coverage, and in moving from one form to another remember that theY are PopUp! this also prohibits displaying Reports in Preview mode. The sizing and positioning of the forms takes a bit of trial and error.

There is code out there for completely hiding the Access window and having the form "free-standing" as it were, but I've tried it and not been happy. The same problem exists in that Reports in Preview mode are hidden, and it caused other problems as well.

Good Luck!
