This is a wild question.

Is it perhaps possible to "copy" the format of an entire report and "dump" it on another? I have ample of forms and reports and I know how to use the Format Painter - but I need to alter the format of all the other physical reports.

Is it possible?

If you are trying to make the format of several of your existing reports the same via copy, not sure. If you mean to create new reports with same format layout, you could copy and paste the report and give it a new name. If you want to copy the objects from one report to another you could open the first report, select the objects (or ctrl+A to select all the objects) and paste into a different report.

Tx sxschech,

Yes, I know all of the aspects as you have explained. My real problem is:

I have more than 20 reports and changed the format of one of the reports. My problem is that I need all the reports the same format without going through the aspects as you have mentioned.

If you "copy" the format of the entire report (in design view) and try to apply it to another report, it does not keep the settings or format to apply to other reports. It is unfortunate to change the format of all but it is nescessary.

This obviously applies to forms as well.

I do not think it is possible but I really that hope I am wrong.

Tx for your reply...............

The only other option I could think of is if the reports are all the same layout, couldn't you just have one report and then use vba to change the parts that are different such as the query or the wording in header/footer, etc. Positioning of objects can also be moved around with vba code.

It is probably too late now but for future databases (A2010 and up), try using themes. Changes you make to the theme are automatically applied to all forms and reports. This feature works reasonably well but has some gotchas. I've used it for all new databases I've created in the past two years and it does save some time. You can also build your own form and report templates with various settings and use those as the model for all new forms/reports.

Thank you for your prompt responses.

sxschech: Unfortunately no two reports are the same.

Pat Hartman: I will try and see how the Themes option will work. Even if it is probably too late, I will anyway try it on existing reports.

Many thanks to you two.
