Hello,
I have been agonizing over this database for a while now and cannot figure this out. I am building a database for our Market Research team and am having difficulty creating a user friendly form. But I have several complex (for me anyway) parts that need to go into the form. I'm not quite sure what the best way is to do it.
For example: For each project we have companies that pitch to do our projects and one company is selected. We would like to be able to track which companies we have asked to pitch and which one was selected. I need to be able to query this to see what projects we have going with which suppliers as well as keep track of which suppliers we use more often. So on the form they need to be able to select multiple suppliers for requested and only one for selected.
It's kind of the same for countries. Project Managers request countries they would like to have in their projects and then it is decided later on which countries will actually be involved in the project. So on the form they will need to be able to select multiple countries for requested and multiple countries for confirmed. I would also like to be able to query this. We like to get a snapshot of what is going on in each country. Not sure what the best way is to do this!
One of the other issues I'm having is setting up a list of Project managers to chose from on the form that I can query as well. So on the form they fill out when they add a project to the database they can select their name. And, later on, when they want to see just their projects so they can post their updates, they can run the 'project manager' query, type in their name and run the query to see their projects. I have a few other issues but these are the main ones I am having problems with. If anyone can help I can't tell you how grateful I would be.
Thanks very much,
Brooke
P.S. I have attached the DB so you can see how my relationships are set up.... information is in there.
