There isn’t enough free memory to update the display. Close unneeded programs and try again.

This is the error I get while working on an access form project at work. My form, table and excel file are all related.

I have done some research online but I can’t seem to resolve this issue.

I am using Access SR-1. “Microsoft help and support” says that this error should not occur with the version I am using. They say it is because the graphic format is .gif not bitmap, but only in Access 2000 Standard Edition.

My form has roughly 50 “Cells” and most of them are conditionally formatted. I have 49 records for the project. I use 2 drop down boxes to select records. The day it started happening I was updating the project with new info, so I was scrolling back and fore through each record for hours.

No nav buttons
No code
Pre-defined style

I tried single form to continuous form – no luck
Tried HasModule = No – no luck
Compact & repair –no luck

My access projects are now in our R drive that the entire company uses. It used to be in my personal H drive. Could that be the cause (memory issue)?

Any ideas?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
