Hi,
I am putting together a parts database for our products.
I want to use cascading combo's to select all the availible parts for any derivative of our products.
I'd like some advice before I start, If anyone can help and forsee any problems down the line...
I imported a parts catalogue table from an excel spreadsheet, however the excel spreadsheet was formatted in such a way that each product was listed in a row, with it's derivatives as colums, and a boolean value set to each column.
I have been reading the tutorials on cascading combo's and now have a couple of sample databases locally. The samples are not suitable for my table.
I was wondering if anyone with experience with Cascading combo's would be able to have a glance over my table and tell me whether it is workable in this format before I even start coding.
I am sure that I can run many true/false queries to limit the list to the parts available to that particular derivative, I am also sure there is an easier way
The products are listed as 'type' in rows and the derivative is a 'number' in a column where true/false values define whether that part is correct for the 'type' product.
I have attached a sample copy of the table
Any advice welcomed...Thanks in advance...
