Generate Query based on Calendar Input

I would like to display a calendar that allows users to select a start and end date and then filter a query based on the selected date range. I'm having a difficult time understanding how a form can be used to collect data, then pass that data to a query, then generate a report. Idealy the end process would be a user clicks the report, clicks 2 dates, then a report is displayed showing results of the query. I've put some hours into this beast and am ending up more confused than when I started.

Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I like to use a form to collect the dates.

Then in the report's recordsourec you can reference the form.

Example"

Between [forms]![frmRptCustomers]![begdate] And [forms]![frmrptCustomers]![enddate]
