Hello i am currently having a simple problem with autonumber in a form! I have the autonumber to contain a unique record of each account i wish to craete on my database! My problem is however is that on the form when i go to click on the next field (autonumber) appears in the textbox on the form! I would rather for design purposes have the autonumber blanked out! If anyone could find a way around this!

Cheers

On your form select the autonumber field right click on it select properties
then the format tab then set visible to no

Autonumber

Cheers for that but it is just i want to see the autonumber when it is 1, 2, 3...etc! I don't want the text autonumber to while i wait for it to go to the next number!

Cheers for the reply

hello,

what you could do is initially set the autonumber field's visible property to No. then you can have an after Update event for the first text box that you will type in. (am assuming your users will have to type in a given field first vefore going to another field)
In the afterupdate event you can set the textbox property to visible. Or you can set a similar event property for any other control on the form so that the text box will be visible only after (autonumber has changed to the number)!
Let me know if this works!
