Google Says Forum Links Do Not Work For SEO

Google's John Mueller again said that dropping links in forums for SEO purposes won't help you rank better in Google. In response the the Reddit thread question "Is Forum Posting Still Work As Link Building Method in SEO?" John Mueller said "No."

John's links here always pulled up fine for me before he switched to this new forum software. So I don't think search engine optimization really matters

In a 6-month old thread like this, when someone throws in a random comment, this sort of comment, I assume you are a spammer, so are you a spammer or a real person?
