I recently came across the GRANT statement in Access which can be used to give certain users assigned privilages, so my question is; is there an equivalent method which can be used in excel.

This isn't a vital request, just curious.

Thank you in advance.

Sort of, if I understand correctly. When you save an Excel File, while the Save As dialog is open, go to Tools > General Options, and it will allow password to open privileges.

Or in Excel itself, go to Tools > Protection, you can protect the worksheet/workbook, Then you can choose Tools > Protection > Allow users to edit ranges.

Keep in mind that any kind of security in MS Office products can be defeated.
