I am a bit of a db virgin! So I would appreciate some assistance please.
I am trying to display a graph in the form view of a db.
The db is comprised of a standard form and table set up but the data comes from a series of linked excel spreadsheets.
Basically it is a way of displaying student data for parents evenings at school and I would like a graph to make it the data more visual.

can anyone help?

Your request is somewhat beyond the scope of the help you can expect to get here. Try adding the graph control to a form. The wizard will help you just as it does in Excel. Unfortunately, it is not the same wizard but in any event, it is the same program so anything you can do in a graph in Excel, you can do in Access. It just may be more difficult to figure out how to do it.

After you've tried working with the graph object, post your questions here and someone will help.

thanks

Thanks I will try again, but I have already been through using the wizard.

How would you build the graph using Excel? The Access wizard is very similar. What problem did you encounter?

wizard is fine

basically what is happening is I follow the wizard in access and the preview looks fine. It is when I try and add it to the form that it reverts to the 'North wind' default graph.
I think it maybe because it is having to link to outside data from excel, but maybe I am wrong.

Because we are updating student data regularly it is less work for us to link the excel data sheet rather than import it.
My next task is to try the graph again with imported data, but I have not got around to it yet.

Thanks for your replies. :)

Where are you building it if you are not building it on the form?
