Well, I just joined. I integrate the various applications in an organization so they can write reports using data our of multiple applications, like payroll and EMR. I use access for this because it is easy to teach employees to use it. Most young IT students learn Access in school.
Increasingly, I find it useful to create new programming for specific purposes in the organization which have not previous been stored in databases. So now I building front ends and this puts me in a new terrain. I will soon have my own server running SQL server express and hosting a web page.
