Greyed-Out New Table Button?

Can anyone please tell me why this button is greyed out as I can't create a new table!?

From the looks of it, you've opened an Access 97 database in something newer than Access 97.
I'm not 100% sure on this, but can you use
Tools > Database Utilities > Convert Database > To current Access Database version
to fix it? You might want to make a backup first.

you have opened your 97 db in 2000/2002 format

Purple key - access2000
