Hello.

I have one Adrees Book. One column is Name! I need on every page grouped by First letter of name! On same page names whose started with same letter. Example, names Joe, Joan, John etc. on same page! I tried group with Sort&Group tool but I didn't do it!

Thanks

Go into sort and grouping in the report. Under Field/Expression put your name field, sort order ascending, group on interval, group interval 1, keep together whole group.

It doesn't work again!

Hello!

On one page I need all persons which name started by specific letter. One page for A, other for B etc...

I use Access 97!

Thanks, Haris

Have a look at the Alphabetical List of Products in the Northwind db

Hi Haris

Any luck? The group on should have been set to prefix characters.

Set the 'Sorting and Grouping' as follows for the Name field

Group Header No
Group Footer Yes
Group On Prefix Characters
Group Interval 1
Keep Together Whole Group

Select the Group Footer and go to it's Properties. Set the 'Force New Page' to After Section. Now you should get a new page every time the first character changes, i.e for each letter of alphabet.

Thanks! I was having this problem, and SEVERAL examples failed to mention that piece of the puzzle. - Most focused on the 'sorting and grouping' settings which had Zero impact on forcing a page break.

Your explicit clear listing of steps helped me get page breaks after each group.

Once again, the answer is easy once you know how.
