Hello there all. I think I am asking this in the rightplace - I hope so.

There is a report that I print in the access file I have, which I want to change to show certain groups. So sometimes I want it grouped by person. And other times I want it grouped by day. At the moment it groups the lines by both. I hope that makes sense?

Thankyou so much.

Mel

You could devise a means to make one report do this but I'm thinking the best thing to do is simply create two reports.

I didn't want to do it twice if possible, I have print this report everyweek. So that would be 3 times., to see who had been seen on what days. With the date printed, with the nameprinted and with both.

I will have to have a new data grid table and screen to put the new data in. So I will have a report for each lot of data and one for both. That was what I thought, but why Lis and I also wanted only to change the one report each time we print.

Lots more work for us yet.:o I hoped it was easier than that.

Thankyou anyway.

Can you post a screen shot of the report as it is now?

How about just copying the original report, giving it a new name and making the group changes to the copy? You don't need to make many changes and would be a lot quicker than writing / creating the new report? Could be achieved in about 5 clicks...

e.g.

Original (groupings)
Grouped by Person
Grouped by day

Copy 1 (groupings)
Grouped by Person
## DELETE ## Grouped by day ## DELETE ##

Copy 2 (groupings)
## DELETE ## Grouped by person ## DELETE ##
Grouped by day

Thanks Ken and Siperiea. A blonde moment for me for sure. I just work part time, and not really muc to do with access.Thats my excuse and I am sticking with it.I have made the 2 extra reports as you suggested.Mel
