I think I am missing sth here, after I set my new group then I create my new user, then what! How can I specify which user to login with? Will the user be promoted for a username and a password?

Are you using the wizard? If not I recomand it to you as this will get you through all the steps needed to secure your database.
This is a list of these steps. If you have a problem somewhere, specify which step you have problem with and what you have done so far.
-Create the groups.
-Create the users.
-Assign groups to each user.
-Complete the .mdw file.
-Create a link file that would open Access, then the database, then the .mdw file.

I hope that this could lead you into the right path.

I had an error:

1. The first step that I did was selecting the security wizard option
2. Create new workgroup file information
3. I want to create a shortcut to open my security enhanced database
4. Then I was promoted to select which object i want to secure they were all selected by default so I kept that way
5. I was asked what workgroup I wanted to select to add in my workgroup information file, I selected the read-only users.
6. I was asked "would you like grant some permission to the users group, I selected Yes and I checked the option open/Run for all objects.
7. I was asked to enter a user name and passwords, when I click add this user to the list this is what I get:

The expression on click you entered as the even property setting produced the following error: Microsoft access can’t move the focus to the control tbusername

What am I doing wrong?

Wow! This goes beyond my humble knowledge. You'll have to wait for someone else's answer as I really don't understand what's going on there.
Sorry!
I hope someone better than me passes by to give you an helping hand.
Good luck!
