My username pretty much sums up my MSACCESS skills, Iam self taught and code when necessary, I would not dare to call my access skills great but I do get around. So far I have created and maintain more that 10 DB for my role in my organization and successfully managed data sent my way.
When not cooking data, I cook, that is how I deflate and relax, BBQ, Cajun & Creole Cuisine, Thai, Indian, i dabble in it all. I reach my zen moments baking old school sour dough breads.
Oh yes! Iam in the process of beating diabetes and changing my lifestyle to be a more conscientious and responsible human being.

Welcome to the forums! We are the most active Microsoft Access community on the internet by far, with posts going back over 20 years!

Here are just a couple of tips for you:

1. Feel free to ask any question you like, however basic you may feel it is, or even if it has been answered before. Our expert members thrive on helping you out!

2. If you prefer a dark theme to the forums, just go to the bottom left of this forum and click "Default style". You will then see a selection of themes to choose from. I like Shades of Blue. :)

3. If you like any of the answers you get, feel free to click the "Like" link on the bottom right hand corner of the post. If you hover over the Like link, you can even choose the type of smiley.

Above all, hang around here, have fun, learn stuff and join in.

Like you, I am working on my blood sugar, though I'm not "officially" diabetic - just metabolic syndrome. But I've lost 16% of my highest body weight trying to keep that under control. I've got more to do, but at least I'm on that road.

As to the Cajun & Creole cuisine, I live in south Louisiana and I married a Cajun. She makes one MEAN gumbo. It's her mom's country Cajun recipe from Thibodeaux. And her grandmother's family included alligator hunters from the bayou country. So I understand that cuisine. One of our friends makes an incredible "hunter's gumbo" - which means "whatever was in the freezer when he cleaned it out." Could include venison sausage, duck, shrimp, chicken... in a sense, the TRUE origin of how gumbo recipes came into being. It was what you made to use stuff rather than let it spoil, and you boiled the ... crap ... out of it to get rid of any oddities.
