I use this database at work it was created by someone who no longer works here. we have a report in the database that has a problem and needs to be edited. there is a date section that is set up so that it reads like DATE and this is grayed out and not editable and then there is a white editable text box for the date. In this area when the date is a such-9/05/2010 and you print this report the date will come out on the printed report. If the date has one more digit-10/10/2010 it will print with xxxxxxxx on the report. The box for the date is different in that there is a space before the numbers start instead of the numbers starting all the way to the left in the box. I need to figure how to fix this please

Go into design view, click on the text box for the date and click and drag on the edge of the box to make it longer.

Where do i get design view from...what menu?

See the attached pic, it should be similar regardless of access version.

I do not have a design view option it is grayed out. I think by the original maker of this form or database. Is there a way to solve that problem? I even added a design view to the ribbon and it is grayed out as well.

What is the file extension of your db?

\\uslabro7\local\customer property\inv\newpark.mde this is a weatherford international file ext i dont know if you will be able to access

Check out this link, you need to look for the .mdb version of your database to edit it.

Must be I am learning something I knew the answer to this one. Now for one I am struggling with.

"The section width is greater than the page width and there are no iterms in the additional space, so some pages may be blank." I have gone into the design view of the report, I have limited the width of the repzontalort to 11 for landscape printing. I have looked at all the fields in the making sure that all are inside the .5 left margin and the 10.5 right margin.

I don't see anything wrong. when looking at the design view of the report.

The Front end file is to big for me to attach to this query.

Muchas Grassious, in advance..

Thanks..

John

The width of the Report must count margins as well. So if you have 11 inch paper size you will not be able to set the width of the report to 11 inches. If you have margins of .5 inch left and .5 inch right then you would have a total to work with out in the report design view of 10 inches, not 11 (left margin + right margin + Report section size).

Oh, and if you have set the right margin to be 10.5 inches then you are way, way, way off. The values aren't set to the location, they are set in the number of inches OFFSET from the right.

Weel Bob: Thanks.. 1st time it didn't work so I looke at page layout again

all margins were .25 t,b,l,r I dragged to 10" page now prints without error message.

In my tunnel vision i didn't notice that the posted date does,t show. I con't understand. both dates are in the subtable po history. Every other field that comes from the sub table show up but not the posted date. What I have is a y/n box called "posted" and a date field that is populated when the box is checked. Any ideas how to get this field to show?

I am so simple. I guess if I want to see records then the date range should include data from the range after the Y/n date field started being populated.

New guy can make some really simple mistakes. pardon my tunnel vision, it's wider than I thought.
