I am using the switchboard manager to create a switch board for the database I have, but once the switchboard is created and I select the option to enter data into the database (a selection programed into switchboard). The database will open up to the 1st record but won't display any information. The date is stored in the table, but I can't get it to display. I can't move to the next record because the 1st is "blank" so I am steamed from enting anything more into the database. I have selected the option to open in edit mode..I have even gone into the vb scritp for "on open" and recoded it from "formopenadd" to "formopenedit" but with no results....any help would be great as this is driving me up the wall.

Thanks Doug

When you open a form in Data Entry mode you will not see any data, just a new, blank record waiting for data... Open the form in Design view, open the forms property sheet and select the Data tab. Change the Data Entry propert to No. Now when you open your form you will see all your data. Add another button to the switchboard to open the form without the acNewRec bit at the end of the code... I personally never use the switchboard as it is to limited. I just create forms with command buttons as it gives me much more control over what I want to do.
