On the 4th November 2016 MS announced that MS Access is now included in Office 365 Business and Business Premium

Some MS Access LOVE

Additionally
Microsoft has 2 developments marked as being acted and they are decent.

BigInt data type support
(which is a good improvement to integration with SQL Server)

dbase file support
(probably an easy one for them as Access used to support it)
