Hi, Is there anyway I can programme keys to repeat actions in the next record - eg date and in the next record underneath pressing for example F8 the date repeats. I know by pressing ctr ' this does it, but want to be able to repeat actions pressing only 1 key instead of 2. Would one use macros to do this? Basically I know nothing whatsoever about them, but am willing to learn.

this will become very difficult to do with macro's, if not impossible. I suggest you do some reading about VBA for Access.
