Hi, I'm writing an Access 2003 application for a society I belong to and the application needs to be robust. I have a form that displays locked member details and the user has to click an 'Edit' button to unlock the fields and make any changes; at the same time I disable other controls that find records. My problem is I can't disable the scroll wheel, so even with the record locked for editing the user can still scroll through the records and potentially corrupt records. I can't find a 'scrollwheel.enabled' property that I can set to false in the VBA library. Can anyone suggest a solution please?

That link leads to Stephen Lebans hack for this task , which has been the gold standard for this for a number of years now.

The two important things to remember is to place a copy of the MouseHook.DLL in the same folder as the database resides in, and to be sure to import the modMouseHook module into your own app.

I've downloaded the zip file, pasted the .dll, imported the standard module and modified the on load event.

The solution works perfectly, many thanks RexesOperator and Missinglinq for their rapid help.

Glad we could help! Just remember to do all the same things if you use it in another database.
