How do I say Thank You

I'm sure this has been asked before - but I'm a newbie. How do I say Thank You other than in the body of the message. I've been helped big time over the last couple of days. Is there a button? thanks

Like the 'Thanks' button on the bottom right corner of each post? Also there is the 'Reputation' button in the upper right corner of each post, it looks like a scale. I'm not sure why we have two systems.
