I have an input form that has many fields, how do I go about fragmenting the data collection.

I thought I might group related data fileds together ie personal details, contact details and have a separate form for each data grouping or one form and make the fields invisible after they are filled in and then make the new data group fileds visible ie overlaying them so it appears to be a new form. I am not sure and would appreciate guidance.

Peter

To pb21:
If your using access 2000 or higher try using the tab control. In other
words place a tab control on your form and then you can create the
different groups you require for the specific fields. I would suggest you
click on help and under the help index look at tabs before getting started.
Hope this helps. Flixx

tabs

this was done previously (not by me) but they leave the data inputter a little disoriented I was hoping to use a combination of forms and vba to make a seamless transition to the data groups :(

Tp pb21:
In that case your only choice is to place in the specified data entry field
property in after update a event procedure that will open a popup form for
the data input person to enter data the a close button that will autosave
the data and don't forget to refresh and repaint. Thats the only simple
solution that i currently see for now. Flixx.
