How to manaipulate Save As dialog box

I am looking for a new way to download/save a file from something called Livelink.

When I use the shift+S buttons to save the file, I get the windows Save As dialog box appear.

How can I manipulate this dialog box to make sure the file is saved where I want it?

I've not had much luck finding a Livelink user forum, if you know of one I'd appreciate the URL.

I'm assuming it is a windows Save As dialog box but I'm not sure. Any idea how to use code the state where to save a file if it is a windows Save As dialog box?

the sample database section on this forum has a few files you can download with code to facilitate file saving - however, these are all in microsoft access, i don't know anything about "Livelink" - certainly not whether the code is compatible between the two applications. Access uses VBA, i presume windows uses VB but i've no idea what kind of code Livelink might use - there are several programming languages out there.

what sort of program is livelink? i haven't even heard of it... if you can gain access to the guts of it and manipulate the code you'll be one step further.
