How to put the value into different column?

Hi everybody,
I have one urgent situation need to solve ASAP !!! Please please kindly give me a flavor!!
I have one table : 2 field called ITEM and DatePurchased . So i have three records for one item with different purchaseddate :
ITEM Date Purchased
ABC 10/8/2005
ABC 10/9/2005
ABC 10/10/2005

And i need to produce a report like this :
ITEM LatePurchased CurrentPurchased NextPurchased
ABC 10/8/2005 10/9/2005 10/10/2005

May i know how to write this query? Because i not familir with ACCSS query, i used MS SQL to write, but it cannot work at ACCESS !!!!!
Please kindly advise me !!

From the time of your posting, most of the usual members of this community will have been asleep!

Also, what you are asking is not easy!

Are you saying you can write the SQL to get what you want? If so, open a new query in design view and switch to SQL view. Enter your SQL there.

Perhaps that is not your answer, though.

Maybe a cross tab query will give you what you want, but perhaps not.

Do you always have exactly three records for each item?
