I have a table of 12,000 records and need to link each record to a photo that can be displayed via a button click. Rather than do this manually is there an easy way to get the links into Access. I have an Excel spreadsheet with the location of the files. I have imported this into Access but can't get Access to follow the links. I have tried putting the addresses into a hyperlink field and a text field, nothing works. I also tried entering into a text field and then converting the field to hyperlink.
I have tried these addresses.
k:\herbarium collection (D)\main collection\all jpgs\DMHN000001-DMHN000500\DMHN000100A.JPG
and
..\..\herbarium collection (D)\main collection\all jpgs\DMHN000001-DMHN000500\DMHN000100A.JPG
and
..\..\herbarium collection\main collection\all jpgs\DMHN000001-DMHN000500\DMHN000100A.JPG
The (D) is part of the eternal drive's address
Any suggestions?

Hi. Have you tried using the FollowHyperlink method?

Yes. I've used that in all my attempts. One article suggested pasting the address as a short text which I tried, as my original post, to no avail. I'm sure I'm missing something. If I use the "Edit hyperlink" option and go to the image it works fine but doing that foe 12000 images will take forever.

Sometimes it pays to check your work. I included the drive name in the address, of course it didn't work.
Sorry for wasting your time.
