Can anyone help me please?? I'm trying to put a auto counter on my table data. I used the auto number type and it works perfectly not til I deleted one of the lines... I lost the number sequencing cause I deleted one of the line. Is there a way for access to auto update my table so i wont lose my counter or is there another option that i can use? please help me! I wanna thank you guys in advance!

Autonumber basically is a "add 1 to last value on insert" thing. If you had say 1 through 1000 and delete row 799, you are just missing row 799. All the others rows still have their number, and any new ones will still be incremented correctly, or should. Maybe I do not understand. Can you clearify?

All I actually want is to have a counter that updates when ever I delete a line. Say for example I have lines 1 to 1000 and I deleted line 501, I want line 502 to be 501 since I deleted the original line 501. Is this actually possible in Access?

I'm inclined to agree with Pat, but just wonder why you want this. There are a number of ways you might achieve this but the context will influence the approach.
