hey all, I am brand new to excel and i have imported data from 3 excel sheets into access as 3 tables, which i have nested to create one main table with a subdata sheet that has it's own subdata sheet, so the result is essentially a 3 level drill down table. This is exactly what i want, except i need a simple way to track changes as i use this to re-inventory. I was hoping to simply set the font color to red so that any values i changed would be red, while all the unchanged values remain black, however this does not seem to be doable. I see that i can create datasheet style forms, that might allow me to use conditional formatting somehow, but i can't seem to get the nested or subdata sheet functionality out of these forms.... is this possible? how else could i keep this layered datasheet style formatting and simply be able to see which values have been modified at the end of the excercise?

Thanks,
Joe

Joe in your transition from Excel to Access, one the first (and possibly hardest) concepts you will need to get your head around, is that of Data Normalisation, you may find working through a tutorial helpful in this process.

You are going to have to push everything you know about Excel to the back of your mind during this process, as Excel concepts do not translate well to Relational DB structure. This is something everyone who started on Excel and moved to Access has had to do. Good luck with your transition.
