Good evening Demi-gods

I've been reading a lot of articles on this site and others, and this link interested me lots but is way, way, way over my head, but I like the fundamental idea behnd it.

http://accessexperts.net/blog/2011/07/07/importing-outlook-emails-into-access/

Here is a brief description of what I am trying to achieve.

I work in shipping.

I have frmQuote which lets me enter all the details of an outgoing quote that I can then email to a client.

On the same form, frmQuote, I was thinking of a subformPricesIn, whereby it stores the emails received from different shiping lines i've been to, with their prices. Thus giving anyone who looks at the record, a heads up of who to speak to, what prices, when it was received etc.

The link above talks about creating an Import and Imported folder within Outlook, and this is where my idea of what I would like to happen takes over - the user who receives the email from the shipping line moves the email into the Import folder, navigates to the quote within Access, clicks an import button, and the email gets stored in its own table but refrences to the quote. The email then automatically gets moved from the Import folder to the Imported folder, so you know it has been done and can be filed accordingly.

I can picture it in my head of how it would look - subform, fields of [DateRecevied] and [Emailfrom], click on the [Emailfrom] and it opens up a new form with the email body on.

If all the users were like me, then within Outlook, I could saveas the email to a central location, navigate to the record from within access and link to via a hyperlink - no probs.

Trouble is, the more experienced in shipping, less experienced in computing amongst us have only just traded in their typewriters, so this would be suicidal for them and obviously I want to make it as painless as possible for them.

I know this is quite a long thread, but if any of you geniuses can understand my jibberish and grasp what I am after and have any ideas, solutions or thoughts, then your wisdom is greatly appreciated and I look forward to seeing what you write.

Thanks in advance
Kind regards
manc
