Incorporate Intelli Type/Auto Fill into our database

Hello,

Basics: We have a Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 database with an Access 2007 front end.

I have to find a way to incorporate Intelli Type/Auto Fill into our database. It doesn't matter if it happens on the SQL side or the Access side, as long as it works. My bosses boss is tired of typing in long sequences of text that are the same time after time for each file we process.
…and no copy and paste is not an option (I wish)
I have to try to find a way so that once he starts typing in a field it will find matches from the same table or column (I’m not picky) and auto fill the field.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

If they're having to type the same things again and again it suggests that the table structure isn't normalised. I.e. Those common choices should be in their own table and the user can then pick them (or a short code representation) from a list or dropdown menu.

well the problem is it is in our new order department, were they are entering data on a particualr ID# for the first time. The drop down menu was my last resport. Thank you for your help!

The principle still applies though. It's hard to give any more detailed a suggestion with the information you've provided. but if they're typing in the same stuff over and over again that suggests a normalisation issue. Why is copying and pasting info, at least, not an option?

Because it's the owner of the company who is asking for this, and he doesn't want to use copy and paste, period; End-O-Story

I'd go with a drop down list.

If you start typing in a drop down list it will pick up appropriate equivalents based on the typed letters..

Combos can be brilliant for this - remember its a nice feature to extend the number of drop downs and add additional fields within the drop down list as well as making sure anything in a drop down is sorted in an intuitive order.
