info from subform populating form

I have a form (frmInput) which has several subforms associated with it (i.e. "frmInputContractor"). There are buttons on the form to click and add info which then brings up a subform. The users enters the info in the fields and then hits enter. I want this information to automatically populate the original form in the appropriate fields instead of the user going back to the form and having to search for the record in a combo box.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
