input mask for text only

i have this in my input mask

>L<??????????????

but it still allows me to enter numerical when i dont want and i thought it shouldnt

any ideas

It shouldn't & indeed doesn't for me - I've just tested it to make sure!

L = a letter MUST be entered
? = letter can be entered

i have seen that theres where i got the key for each letter

but if i have only L and ? why can i enter numbers ????
