Hi every one,
In my friends system I need to install visual studio 2003. So first I started to install IIS. But wneh I insert XP CD in that system ..after going to option Add Addtional components..I have noticed that IIS option is not in the list.( It is not installed in that system). Even I tried by going to Control panel-add remove programs - Add remove windows components..even here also IIS is not in the list.
operating system is XP with SP2 and with windows updates.
I know that if IIS is installed then you will see Inetpub in C directory. (and iisreset command in RUN will restart it)..neither is working for me.
I dont know how to continue.
Any help is available?
Thanks
Have a nice day

Are you using XP Professional? IIS is only available in XP Professional, not in XP Home or XP Media Center.

Hi, I have XP home and thats why the problem is arising..will you please let me know how to proceed further in case of XP home edition.(step by step)
thanks

You will have to purchase an upgrade to XP Professional, Windows Vista Business, or Windows Vista Ultimate in order to install IIS. There is no other way.
