Hello everybody

I tried to search in the forum and internet but no results: I would like to include in my project an instant messaging system, i.e. a simple form wher you can type a text and send to another user of the database. I have a database with about 40-50 connected users, with a SQL server back-end, each user with its own Ms Access front end. I remember many years ago the "Net Send" command in DOS but it looks is now disappeared. Any idea on how to do this?

I used the message system discussed in the Access CookBook.

It used a form with a timer to poll for new messages, but I think the timer adversely affected performance in the database.

That book is excellent. It discusses real world problems, some of which are now part of access - such as anchoring and re-sizing controls to form edges.
