Hi,

Until recently I have been happily exporting 5 data tables from Access to .txt files. Now, for some unknown reason, I am getting an 'Invalid Argument' when I try to export any of these tables. I'm sure it's not a size issue as a couple of the tables are fairly small. The only workaround, which is a pain in the a**, is to export the tables to SQL first then export to .txt. Not ideal. Has anyone else encountered this problem and know what's happening?

cheers,

Alex

I haven't experienced the exact error message when exporting to text, but I have encountered problems with it in the past.

MSTEXT35.DLL seems to balk on memo fields, in particular.

Several times I've had to remove and reinstall Office (97 Pro) to correct it.

Added note: Beware Microsoft's Access removal tool. I've forgotten the exact name of it, but it removes certain .dll's, registry entries, etc. - things that make it difficult to start with a clean playing field. It can make a mess of things. I recommend avoiding it.
