Hi
I am having to share a label printer (Zebra LP2844) with another application and they must have the configuration set up strangely. The label is pre-printed so print orientation is critical. When printing from the main application their print flows the right way but when I print my access labels they come out upside down.
I cannot fiddle with the printer properties since this will disrupt the main application.
Only solution seems to be for me to invert all my textboxes in label design and then reposition them so that it all fits neatly with the pre-printed part of the lablel.
Only trouble is I cannot find a property to invert the textbox.
Anyone know how to do it?
Would greatly appreciate the pointer.
Thanks and best wishes

I've used Zebra Printers before but not with a DB, In you page setup if you select use specific printer you should be able to specify how you want it to print with out affecting other reports.

eg.

I have reports set up on mey Xerox network printer to print double sided and Staple. default reports just print one sided with no staples.

Are your labels using the same template as the main application? if not You can change the orientation on the label in label setup (zebra). it sounds like you are actually using an Access report but (in our case) we use a program called "Labelview 6.0" to print the labels and you should be able to send the data through that program. I'll check when I get back to work next week, but hopefully someone can get you the answer.

Thanks Zigg1
I have tried looking for controls that would help but no success yet.
Further info on this intermediate prog would be useful since as you surmise I am printing directly from Access.
Look forward to hearing more. Have a good weekend

Stupid question I know but, can't you just turn the paper around?

Ah would that it were so easy. The paper feed is a roll of pre-printed labels which will only feed one way!
Sometimes they just like to make life hard for you!!!

- I think the suggestions were to use print setup. You should get printer specific options if you have the correct printer driver installed.

It won't help you now but you should be able to order the labels as "Fan Fold" instead of Rolls this way you can feed them through the other way.

Alternatively rewinding the roll would work also, if you have the "spool" attachment that catches the printed labels and winds it up maybe that would work.

*but have you looked at the page setup to use Specific printer.

**Also check the print program for Import options from a database (ODBC)

I see this is an old thread. But my LP2844 driver v2.6.42 for Windows now has, under Printing Preferences, "Rotate 180 degrees" checkbox. That should solve your problem.
