I am using Autonumber as a data type for a Project# field. I created a form to enter the new projects and it worked fine until I changed a field REV to required in the table. I didn't have this field shown on my form as it was supposed to default to "A". The form appeared to work and it gave the consecutive numbers as before, except when I went to look in the main table they were not there! I have since fixed the problem with the required fields, and have tried to compact and repair database to try to start over with no luck. The table still believes there to be records with a project number which I have already assigned. Since documentation as already been released with this number, I cannot just give it a new number. Can anyone help? I have tried to run an append query to reset the starting value of the Autonumber field, but it gives me a key violation, even though the record doesn't appear to be there?
