Is access the best tool for this application?

I need to set up a tracking system that will allow me to track several different parts at various stages. First, I need to set up a system that will track parts going to 2 separate supplies and then coming back to the plant. Second, I need to track these parts at different stages. third, I need to build on this system to modify the components for all parts. My question, is access the best tracking tool for doing this (to sort by data parts left, came back and then just compiling a report on the various parts? Thanks.

You could do this in Access, and if you ask in this forum you would get a resounding YES. The only problems some encounter is with the Access size limitations, but it is VERY versitile and actually easy to work with.
