Hi All,

This is a long shot Im sure…
I have a database that works absolutely fine for me.
I have 2 Japanese colleagues with the Japanese language pack installed on their machines.
They have copies of my database.
When I update the program they take new copies BUT for some reason the Microsoft Visio Viewer reference becomes MISSING (only for them). Its easily re-established.
Today, one of my Japanese colleagues suddenly has a debug on a very simple txtbox showing the date (the rest of us are OK and do not experience the problem when we open the exact same database).
We are on thin clients and have the same windows profiles with no difference apart from the language pack.
Does anyone know of issues with Access and language packs and is there anyway to programmatically get around it if so (tell Access to ignore language packs)?

Thanks

Hi,

I've had a similar problem, I would suggest that it's not the langauge packs, but it's Citrix. It would appear that citrix [thin clients] are a world of their own and can cause some or all of any code you have written in your Access application to just simple stop working.

I had to recreate a special copy of my DB for one user without any code behind the scenes, this has restricted considerably what that user can do in the database from their thin client [citrix] machine, but this sort term solution is what I've had to implement until we can discover why thin client [citrix] causes this problem.

my approach may not be what you need to do and there may indeed be some other cause to your problem.

John
