Layout changes when report is exported into rpt file

I have a report in MS Access 2007 where I made the label and field borders solid black lines so that they'd be visible when they printed. When I print this report directly from the database, the lines show up fine. But I also need to export this report into Word so that I can combine it with a pre-existing document. I've exported this report into an RPT file using the Access menu ribbon, but when I open the RPT file the label and field borders are all invisible. How can I make the border lines visible in the RPT file? I really need to do this, because if I can't get the report layout to export exactly as is then the report (and the database) isn't going to be useful.
