I have a query based report that needs to show the sales rep name who prospected the account, but I need to limit the characters that show up. The field looks like this "Doe, John(Atlanta 1061)". I have tried to do a simple =left([SalesRep],10), but I keep getting errors. Can someone explain to me or give me an example of simply limiting the field to the 10 leftmost spaces? I think I'm confused when HELP talks about strings and variables. Thanks.
