Recently I have been feeling a sharp pain in my upper thigh (right leg) near the groin whenever i kick something, usually a football. I haven't the slightest idea about when i injured it, it just hurt one day. I have tried icing it but it has not dulled the pain much. Any help would be much appreciated.

I suggest you go and see a shrink, it worked wonders for paris hilton. well at least till a couple hours ago

I'll have to look into that :)

Okay simple answer

2 Possibilities

Possibility 1
When you kick a football it is the other fella who had the ball kicking you

Possibility 2
Whatever/whoever you are kicking is kicking back

Solution

Stop kicking

Just trying.......to help

You pulled your groin.

it wont go away without rest then properly STRETCH.

have done it a million times.

get yourself checked out by a doctor - sounds like a strain - but if it still hurts , worth getting the old once over .

Rest it up and try not to do anything strenuous in that area. I hear massage is good.;)

Which type of football are we talking about, real football or the girls game of American football?

Does anyone else find it odd that his first post is about leg pain, and not something to do with access? maybe its just me.......

His first post was at 12:10am UK time - a possible indication the poster is American - so it's the girlie football I'll bet.

It's the US round of the F1 Grand Prix this weekend in Indianapolis. I hope they make the track a bit more interesting than they do for the softee boring American nascar racing (yawn). F1 drivers are used to having to turn both right and left, not just left.

cjert,

Agree with rainman... you have the classic symptoms of a groin strain.
I had a pretty bad case once.
I went to the doc and he told me to take ibuprofen to ease the swelling.
Didn't know what he was talking about because I didn't see any swelling, but sure enough, as soon as I took the pills my "buddies" bruised up terribly and I finally felt like the pain made sense!!
... oh... and stop kicking things until you get better.
... then before all future games be sure to stretch first!!

Maybe it is just that you are getting further away from the number 21 in your age...

Merci Beacoup

I am American, however, I do not play the "girlie" football. (Man U fan) I will try the advice I recieved here.
