Ok, so in an attempt to make my DB the right way... I've decided to make a link table. Here's what I'm tryin to do. I've made a table for each data set and given each record an id.
I have a list of sites:
Chicago 1
Newyork 2
SanFransico 3
LA 4
I have a list of products:
Cars 1
Phones 2
Boardgames 3
I have a list of departments:
Management 1
Chicago Sales 2
New York Sales 3
West Coast Sales 4
Now I want to make a link table right?
Chicago Sales wants to me notify if any ticket is made in Chicago. So my lnik table is
Site 1
Product 1
Dept 2
But they want to be notified for every product.
West Coast sales wants every product in both LA and Sanfransico
Management wants to be notified everytime a Car ticket is made, no matter where it's at.
How do I make a link table for that sort of thing?
I've really never done it this way before, but I Know it's the right way so I wants to learn! Help me!
