Hey all,

Apologies for the cryptic title...i'm not sure if what I want to do has a specific name!!

What I have is a continuous form that it based on a query. This form is getting a bit big to fit all the features on one screen now, so what i'd like to do is add a little button (obviously appearing for each record/row) and then make that button open a new "pop-up" window that can hold text fields about that specific record from the continuous form.

I can make the button, I can make the "pop-up" form and link them but what I cant do is link the text fields to the original record.

I know this isn't clear but I think what i'm after is "Linked forms"?

Any help would be greaaaaaat

Thanks for the quick reply! That seems to be what I am looking for.

However, I notice that you have to refer to the control that the restriciton is based on. Unfortunately I dont display the PK on the form...does this matter or can I still refer to the PK even tho it isnt displayed?

Thanks,
NS

The PK doesn't need to be ON the form but it does need to be in the underlying recordset.

To refer to the PK in the current form's underlying recordset use the Bang

Me!YourPKFieldName

and in the form that is being opened, just refer to the field name

[PKFieldName] = " & Me!YourPKFieldName

Great! Thanks for your help..I shall try this tomorrow :)
